COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

About therapy

Find out how counselling works, what therapists do and what happens in a therapy session.

I will work with you to help you

find how you might make your situation better; how you might find peace in your life; nourish your soul; help you develop coping strategies or find a way forward that's right for you.

I practice in an integrated way to suit the needs and preferences of each individual client. My practice is informed by humanistic, person-centred and CBT theory.

I take a holistic approach, as mind, body, spirit and emotions are integrally connected and if you change one, you change another.

We may look at what life is like for you now, explore your past experiences, or focus on your hopes for the future,  whatever feels right for you.

We will work at your pace whilst making sure you feel safe, whether it be dipping your toe in the water initially, or taking a deeper dive further along.

If you wish to, it may help your therapy to do in-between session tasks and I can suggest 'homework', such as reading, relaxation techniques, and/or physical and creative exercises.

I am interested in ways to enhance wellbeing in nature, using green spaces connecting with nature.

How Long Does Therapy Take?

Some people attend therapy for one session, four sessions, a few weeks, a few months or a few years.

It depends on what you are seeking therapy for, as well as your personal preferences. It varies quite a bit from one person to another.

Taking the first step

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out to a therapist. Please feel free to call, text or email, and I will respond as soon as I am able, and with compassion. When I telephone, I will always ask if it is a convenient time to speak.

I will provide full information regarding privacy and confidentiality on our initial session. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. ZB535731

My privacy notice can be viewed here.

Fee £50 per session

These last for 50 minutes, and are usually weekly, but this is negotiable to suit your needs.

I offer a free 30 minute no obligation introductory session. This is to make sure you feel I am the right therapist for you, as the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect in counselling.

We can discuss what you would like to achieve through counselling and I will answer any questions you may have.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, either by telephone call, text or email for more information.

I look forward to hearing from you.
