CLINICAL SUPERVISION

Limited availability*

I offer face-to-face clinical supervision for counsellors and other practitioners working holistically with adults

I am a BACP senior accredited counsellor with more than 15 years' full-time experience working with adults. During that time, I have worked in a variety of settings and organisations including hospice palliative care and bereavement services, NHS occupational health, mental health charities and at a GP practice. â€‹I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision (2018) from the University of Derby (Level 7). Prior to setting up in private practice I was manager of a BACP Accredited Counselling Service. I also have more than 20 years experience as a Registered Nurse working in neuroscience and ICU.

I incorporate the BACP Ethical Framework in my work with counsellors and their clients and discuss this regularly. I also incorporate the BACP Supervision Competence Framework within my practice.

I work with Procter's Model of Supervision, the Cyclical Model, or Hawkins & Shohet 7-Eyed Model of Supervision.

I encourage regular supervisory reviews and evaluations.  I want to ensure supervisees are getting what they need in each session and that the supervisory alliance is mutually satisfactory.

I aim to give feedback and challenge about all aspects of supervisees' work, provide support, new ways of working, explore ethics and principles and to build resilience. I incorporate care of self as a practitioner into each session.

I want my supervisees to feel they can say anything and admit anything and everything, to enjoy our sessions and even have fun sometimes! I want my supervisees to feel they take away a different perspective, new ideas, gain insight and awareness along with recharged batteries.

I think it's important to assess the balance of support and challenge that may be most helpful for supervisees depending on both experience and current circumstances.

My mission is to help maintain a highly ethical, effective and healthy counselling profession. I strongly support statutory regulation of counselling and psychotherapy and that counsellors should not be expected to work without pay.

Please note, I do not work with newly qualified counsellors in private practice as I believe more experience is necessary before working independently.

My Fees for 2025/26 are £55 for one hour, or £75 for 90 minutes

I offer a free 30 minute no obligation introductory session to discuss your supervisory requirements, and for you to make sure you feel I am the right clinical supervisor for you.
